Since 1993, ART has partnered with hundreds of businesses, schools, first responders and municipalities to give unwanted clothing a second life. With more than 1,500 bins across New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania, we have kept over 1.2 billion pounds of clothing out of landfills and paid more than $25 million to the organizations whose names are on our bins.

ART has been owned and run by the Binler family from the first bin to today. The people who answer the phone are the people whose name is on the company.
Bruce Binler
Bruce founded ART in Great Neck, New York in 1993 and grew it from a single bin into the largest textile recycler in the Northeast, still family-owned. Under his leadership, ART has kept over 1.2 billion pounds of clothing out of landfills and returned more than $25 million to the communities it serves.

Why recycle clothing?
Every year about 11.3 million tons of textiles, mostly clothing, are thrown into American landfills. That is more than 22 billion pounds. Our program gives those materials a second life instead.
What does ART accept?
Clean, dry clothing, shoes, handbags, hats and jewelry. We do not accept rugs, pillows or home furnishings.
My organization would like to host a bin. How does it work?
You provide the space and we handle the rest. We place a clearly marked bin on your property, branded with your organization's or chosen charity's logo. We service every location 3x a week, carry full insurance for every property owner, and pay premium placement fees upfront each year, with reports that help municipalities earn Federal recycling credits. There is no long-term obligation: opt out at any time and we remove the bin promptly.
Does ART offer pick-ups?
We do not offer individual home pick-ups, but we do pick up from businesses that would like to donate.
What will it cost my organization to fundraise?
Nothing. The program costs your organization nothing, and it can generate thousands of dollars in funds throughout the year.
What happens to my donation?
Every donation is sorted and sent on for reuse. Clothing, shoes and accessories go on to new owners in communities around the world, which keeps them in use and out of landfills.
How often are bins serviced?
Three times a week. If a bin fills up before its scheduled pick-up, call us at 888-243-3273 and we will respond within the hour.
How much clothing does ART collect each year?
More than 60 million pounds a year. We started with 50,000 pounds in 1993 and grew to 250,000 pounds in 1994, 3 million in 1998, 5 million in 2000, 10 million in 2005 and 30 million in 2010.
